Michael Lofton reads the response of an Orthodox professor who attempts to reconcile how the Sixth Ecumenical Council (Constantinople III) accepted papal infallibility in light of Orthodoxy’s rejection of papal infallibility. Michael shows the professor doesn’t adequately understand the parameters of the discussion – let alone does he sufficiently solve the problem from an Orthodox perspective. He also shows that the professor’s appeal to the condemnation of Pope Honorius by the same council harms the Orthodox position even further.
