Michael Lofton tackles the question of communicatio in sacris (sharing in the sacred) between Catholic and Orthodox both historically and theologically. He examines contemporary sources like Mortalium Animos and Vatican II and considers if they contradict each other. He then compares them to medieval and reformation era decisions of the Holy See. After this, Michael makes some applications to the Council of Florence and the question of outside the church there is no salvation.
